Carla Shellis is the founder of Bochy's Place, a safe house dedicated to the restoration of human trafficking victims. Carla shares her story of how owning, operating, and selling 5 restaurants prepared her to fulfill a greater life purpose. Her setbacks taught her valuable life-lessons that gave her the business acumen needed to successfully run such a powerful non-profit and make a difference in the world.
Carla lives with a passion to build women into the very best they can be. From complete brokenness to a simple refreshing, her vision is to equip and educate women at the root level with easy to understand skill sets necessary to rebuild or enhance their day to day lives.
In 2012 Carla felt a strong call on her life into women's ministry. She has since worked on restoring women in crisis. Since 2015, she has worked to minister to and rebuild women who have been rescued from sexual exploitation & trafficking.
With her passion to help see women live at their fullest potential together with her extensive experience in business, marriage, and motherhood the formation of transitional homes for rescued girls was the next step in her work inside this population.
Bochy’s Place opened in December 2017 and is focused on restoring the lives of girls who have been rescued from sex trafficking and exploitation. Her goal is to enhance these women emotionally, physically and spiritually according to God’s design so that they can dramatically interrupt and change the course of life into freedom and success! Carla believes when one woman is healed and set free, an entire family and community will be transformed as well.
Carla enjoys spending time with her husband, children, family and friends around a table full of comfort foods, conversation, and laughter! Her dreams are filled with spending days on a family farm and visiting the country-sides of Italy with family and friends enjoying the local culture of food.
